About color schemes

A color scheme determines the set of colors used in your document. It include seven colors:

  • Fill foreground color

  • Fill background color

  • Line foreground color

  • Line background color

  • Shadow foreground color

  • Shadow background color

  • Text color

     

You can apply a collection of text, line, fill, and shadow styles to your drawing that are all based on a particular scheme of colors. When you apply a color scheme, all the shapes in the drawing are formatted at once.

Note  When a color schemes is applied to the drawing, all the shapes in the drawing will be formatted, but the new shapes added to the drawing after using color schemes will still use the page default style and colors.

You can create your own color scheme. For example, you can create a color scheme that matches your company's logo colors. You also can edit, delete and load a color scheme.

Apply a color scheme

  1. Click Style at the bottom of the left docking pane to show the style pane, if the style pane has been opened.

    If not, on View menu, click Style Window, or click Style Window on standard toolbar to open the style pane.

  2. Click Color Schemes tag on the style pane to switch to the Color Schemes table.

  3. Point to the color schemes you want to apply

  4. Do one of following:

    • Click the color bar .

    • Click the down arrow next to the color bar, on the pop menu , click Apply Color Scheme.

Create a color scheme

  1. Click Style at the bottom of the left docking pane to show the style pane, if the style pane has been opened.

    If not, on View menu, click Style Window, or click Style Window on standard toolbar to open the style pane.

  2. Click Color Schemes tag on the style pane to switch to the Color Schemes table.

  3. Click Create new color scheme on the bottom of the Color Scheme table.

  4. Select the colors you want on the Create New Color Scheme window.

  5. Click OK.

       

Edit a color scheme

  1. Click Style at the bottom of the left docking pane to show the style pane, if the style pane has been opened.

    If not, on View menu, click Style Window, or click Style Window on standard toolbar to open the style pane.

  2. Click Color Schemes tag on the style pane to switch to the Color Schemes table.

  3. Point to the color schemes you want to edit.

  4. Click the down arrow next to the color bar, on the pop menu , click Edit Color Scheme.

  5. Select the new colors you want on the Create New Color Scheme window.

  6. Click OK.

Delete a color scheme

  1. Click Style at the bottom of the left docking pane to show the style pane, if the style pane has been opened.

    If not, on View menu, click Style Window, or click Style Window on standard toolbar to open the style pane.

  2. Click Color Schemes tag on the style pane to switch to the Color Schemes table.

  3. Point to the color schemes you want to delete.

  4. Click the down arrow next to the color bar, on the pop menu , click Delete Color Scheme.

Load color scheme from a shape

  1. Select the shape whose colors you want to save to color scheme.

  2. Click Style at the bottom of the left docking pane to show the style pane, if the style pane has been opened.

    If not, on View menu, click Style Window, or click Style Window on standard toolbar to open the style pane.

  3. Click Color Schemes tag on the style pane to switch to the Color Schemes table.

  4. Point to the color schemes you want to edit.

  5. Click the down arrow next to the color bar, on the pop menu , click Load Shape Color Scheme.

Note Load Shape Color Scheme command will change the selected color scheme to the selected shape's color scheme, and you can't revert the old color scheme. If you want to keep the shape color scheme without changing the old color scheme, you should create a color scheme firstly, then load the shape's color scheme to the new color scheme.
